Van with kids – O Tamanco Camping in Costa da Prata (Portugal)

Going up from Marbella to Galicia via Portugal, we stopped a few nights at O Tamanco Camping, between Lisbon and Porto.

This campsite is undoubtedly one of our favorites so far: surrounded by greenery, more private pitched than usual, clean facilities, a vegetable garden, chickens and rabbits and a restaurant that (for me) deserves a Michelin star! The antique table football, the ping pong table, the wooden playground, and the cart where you can pick up fruit and vegetables and leave coins (😍) are just the icing on the cake. And did I mention the baker coming every morning at 9am with fresh bread and pastries?

Excursions

From here we took a short bike ride to Parque Da Fonte da Pedra, where we found a pond with geese, picnic tables and a small playground: perfect as a destination for a bike trip.

By car we went to visit the beautiful castle of Montemor-o-Velho and the beach with New Zealand vibes Praia Osso da Baleia: careful because on Google there are two, the correct one is in the links below.

We stayed here only a few days, but it's one of those campsites where we would have liked to stay longer.

Ps. If you are not in a camper, there are also yurt-like tents and small hobbit-style "rooms".
