I used to wake up really late. After a night out, I could sleep till late afternoon, eat and then go back to sleep.

Then I met Alex, who’s completely the opposite. He loves waking up early to make the most of the day. And little by little he converted me, he made me realise how beautiful it is to have done a lot by the time normal people wake up. To exercise before starting the day. To have a big, healthy breakfast (with eggs and bacon you cover both). It’s a much healthier lifestyle and a habit I’m happy to have developed over the years.

Sometimes we go for a run, sometimes we work at the computer in bed, sometimes we just wake up, start the day and then clean the house together before Alex leaves to the office. It’s a good way to start the day. It feels good.

If you want to try, here’s a few tips on how to do it by Leo Babauta—and he definitely knows what he’s talking about as he wakes up every morning at 4:30 and loves it! 10 Benefits of Rising Early, and How to Do It
