Oliver was supposed to come today. Instead, he was in a rush to come get all that love I always told him about. So he came on Sunday and—oh my!—he found so much love!

It’s unbelievable and insanely amazing the love you feel the moment you meet your child for the first time. And it keeps growing and growing and growing.

Even now, after three exhausting, overwhelming and emotionally challenging days, roller-coastering through hormones and emotions, starting what might potentially be another sleepless night… there’s just love.

We’re parents.

Oliver meets Emily for the first time

A few hours after Emily was born, Alex brought an unaware Oliver to the hospital. I miss my boy! (Going from one to two kids)

I’m not ready to let him go (or "when you get your period back")

I had a whole different post planned today, but this morning I woke up and something happened that I really wasn’t ready for. After 611 days, of which 277 of pregnancy and 342 of raising our beautiful baby boy, I got my period back. It’s like my hormones finally figured themselves out, and boom! I’m back to normal.
