Montessori express: change the sentences into positive

When you want your children to respect a rule, try to avoid negative sentences.

❌ Don't shout!

❌ Don't stand on the chair.

Often, when we say these senteces, in the child's mind the "don't" gets lost. When we want our children to respect a limit, or a rule, instead of using negative sentences, we can try to turn them to positive ones.

✅ Let's speak quietly.

✅ We sit on the chair.

It's not a magic wand, but it gives the child's brain a concrete action to do, which means they are more likely to do what we ask. It really works!
