I believe there is a big problem with modern parenting. The crazy quest for “the method”.
Yes, I know, I am and preach Montessori. But I believe that this quest for “the method” is making us lose sight of the big picture, of the essence of what education should be.
The essence is: education must be based on respect for all human beings.
If I don't talk to an adult one way, I don't talk to a child that way, either.
If I don't treat an adult one way, I don't treat a child that way, either.
How did we come to think that it’s ok to treat kids with less respect than adults? This has nothing to do with any method, it should be universal in any kind of education.
