When we left Europe to travel the world, I would have never imagined that one day, all the way around the world, I would have sobbed for days for having to leave new friends. And I would have never imagined that, back “home”, I would sometimes cry when thinking of how much I miss them.
Thank you Nina for always being there for me, for all the parenting wisdom, and for teaching Oliver and Emily not to be afraid to touch stuff in nature (I’m not doing a great job at keeping it up, sorry! ). Thank you Peter for all the times you dropped everything to help us out, for giving the kids amazing experiences at the farm—and for always filling my glass. Thank you Josh for all the time you spent with the kids, and for being a true friend—and hero—to them, they adore you! Thank you Eli for all the times you read to the kids—they still talk about it—and for playi ng catch infinitely.
Thank you for fairs, walks, talks, laughters, parties (with great music and always at the right volume ), markets, Christmas, Easter, drink nights, ping pong tournaments, martini espressos by the pool, salsa dancing, dog walking, surprise farewell dinners, our pounamu stones (I haven’t taken it off since) and so, so, so much more.
You’re family, and no distance or time will ever change that. We love you and miss you. See you in Europe in 2023! 🤞
