One of the best experiences we had in New Zealand was climbing to the top of a hill in the late afternoon, having a picnic and waiting for the sun to set.
Oliver and Emily danced, ran, sang, but they also sat and patiently watched the sun disappear behind the hills. We went back at night, with torches, a bit of fear, some complaints and a lot of tiredness, but I carry that sunset in my eyes and in my heart.
[Sitting and watching the sunset is one of the many daily occasions to practice patience with children. On the blog you’ll find some ideas on how to practice sense of time: latela.com/time ).
